Family Connection

Fall Around the World ~ Saturday, September 29

Please join us September 29 from 4-6PM in the ISM MUR for our 6th annual FALL AROUND THE WORLD festival!

This event is an International Showcase of Family, Culture, and Tradition displaying our appreciation for the diversity of ISM families, and celebrated through the sharing of unique foods, artifacts, special customs or games, country-specific attire, and more.

We invite you to join the celebration either by:

  1. HOSTING A TABLE as a family or multi-family team and highlighting your cultural history or love of a specific country, by preparing a pot-luck dish (served as sample sizes) offered at your own self-decorated country-themed table. All time to participate as a host and prepare food counts as volunteer hours. To learn more about table hosting or to signup, please visit our hosting guidelines page.
  2. Participate as A TRAVELER, join in the global experience and fun by “traveling the world” via your special ISM passport (to be supplied). Tantalize your taste buds with the offerings at each ‘host table/country’ and learn a bit about the culture surrounding these delicious foods from around the globe. Let's make this an eco-friendly event- remember to bring your own plates and utensils! Also bring your own non-alcoholic beverage.

Check out the video from the 2012 festival.

We are also organizing some fun extras:

  • All participants are encouraged to bring written copies of their recipe to share with the ISM Community
  • During the event, we will have student-led cultural activities (i.e dance demonstrations, origami folding, etc).
  • Students: get your ISM Fall Around the World passport stamped and be eligible to enter your name in the FALL AROUND THE WORLD raffle (to be supplied).
